About Clearwave Communications

Delta Communications, LLC (dba Clearwave Communications) is a next generation communications company headquartered in Harrisburg, Illinois. Clearwave has been in business since 1996, and offers a complete package of telecommunications services for business and residential users, including a full-suite of voice solutions, high-speed data and Internet access and Internet services. In addition to our full line of Clearwave voice and data services, we offer a number of other products and services that help people communicate or improve their quality of life.

On August 18, 2010, Clearwave was awarded grant funds in the amount of $31.5 million from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration’s (NTIA’s) Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP). The State of Illinois, through the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), is also supporting the broadband project by pledging more than $11 million in matching funds. More than $2 million in private funding brings the budget to more than $45 million to provide southern Illinois with a fiber-optic network and access.

This project is part of the Illinois Broadband Opportunity Partnership, in which Clearwave will be interconnecting with the Illinois Century Network (ICN), which provides a gateway to Internet2 for K-12 schools, libraries and non-research higher education institutions. Additionally, the funding will provide the Counties of Southern Illinois 9-1-1 (CSI-911) the network needed to facilitate the implementation of the nation’s first standards-based Next Generation 9-1-1 public safety system.
